I believe that taking pride in your work and enjoying what you do is just as important and impactful as being capable and proficient in it. The sense of accomplishment you get after completing something I think is an integral part of any job. Many times, after completing a build or finishing a project, I look at what has been constructed and I see it as a representation of my skill and passion. Scaffolding involves a lot of meticulous planning and precision; carelessness, for obvious reasons, is impermissible on the job. Because of this, finishing a well-made build feels like having baked a large wedding cake or having sculpted the centre piece of a ball room.
They say that passion fuels perseverance. It turns mundane tasks into opportunities for growth, innovation, and enjoyment. The satisfaction derived from a well-made scaffold isn’t just about meeting the requirements of the job, it’s about surpassing them. From the initial planning stages to the final inspection, there’s an undeniable sense of pride that comes from knowing that the scaffold in front of you is a direct result of your craftsmanship. I hope that in whatever you are doing, that you can find at least some aspect of it to take pride in.
